Upper picture is a scene of Urasoko Bay near the laboratory. You can see the laboratory's white roof in the middle of the seashore.



Upper picture is Aoganpi trees cultivated in the field of the laboratory ranging from 1 to 9 years. Older Aogapi trees were transplanted from Iriomote Island. Recently, teachers and students of Yaeyama Agricultural School have successfully begun to raise Aoganpi trees from seeds. Behind the field, the Ishigaki Island speciality, bananas, that serve as a wind barrier are growing luxuriantly.
